  1. Love the Mondavi quote! I can still remember 65 years ago when as a 7 year old my grandparents and their children (including my dad) would gather ’round the Sunday pasta table with a gallon bottle of Villa Armando Vino Rustico – such is the bread of life.

  2. Conrad, long time no read. Had fun reading this post. The best two by far are ” a woman drove me to drink and I never had the courtesy to thank her” and “wine because no good story started with someone eating a salad.” Top best two out of all of them. Had fun reading you, long time had been.

  3. My favourite is written on a rafter at Domaine Jacques Prieur in Meursault and translates something like…”It’s better to drink too much and regret it than not drink at all and regret it.”

  4. It would be redundant to say what the only thing lacking in this collection is, wouldn’t it. Pardon me while I dash to get it! 🙂
xoxo and thanks for the inspiration!

  5. I have one for you:
    […Few things surpass old wine…]
Let us have wine and woman, mirth and laughter,
Sermons and soda water the day after
    –Lord Byron
*Don Juan*; Canto II, Stanza 178, Lines 5 and 7-8]
