  1. I have a wine confession: When I was in the U.S. recently, someone gave me a bottle of merlot which I brought home to share with my family. We all LOVED it.

This wine was by Charles Shaw, sold in a grocery store named “Trader Joe’s”. This wine retails for $2-$3, and is more popularly known as “Two Buck Chuck”. I was slightly mortified because I thought surely I would be able to identify a cheap wine.

Turns out I can’t, but I guess it doesn’t matter. I loved that wine and I’ll happily stock up on Two Buck Chuck the next time I visit the U.S.

  2. Great round up and nice mixture of red, white, sparkling and rose for different places. I really like the Arrogant Frog name.

The best wine I’ve tried this year, so far, is Mayer-Fonne’s 2012 Dorfburg Pinot Gris. If you can’t get your hands on a bottle give it a whirl. It’s perfectly balanced and delicious!
