Enjoyed some beautiful #Malbec and blends at @BodegaVistalba in the #Mendoza #wine region of #Argentina. The Corte A, B, and C were all lovely complex drops with each showing its own unique character and the Tomero Malbec was beautifully fresh and refined with dancing fruit. Yum stuff. Here's a @torreswines Cabernet Sauvignon from the Spanish region of Penedes that came into its own after a day of decanting. Served with potato gnocchi and beef ragout, the drying tannins and cassis fruit were a great match. Penedes is considered one of the country's best wine-producing regions after the Rioja. I've tasted about 150 rosés over the past couple of months and this is definitely the best so far. This one is from Provence. The rosés from this subregion called Bandol are generally made from Mourvedre. This wine has real depth; fragrant berries on the nose and a beautifully balanced palate. Yesterday I was reminded how good Cotes du Rhone Blanc is when matched with spicy Asian food. I don't know what the blend was here, but was probably a mixture of #Roussanne #Marsanne and #Viognier.
